Professional Information:

Mr. Carmi was born in Montreal, Canada but has called Miami home since age two. Joseph, a lover of the sciences, earned his bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in chemistry from Marshall University. He then moved back to Miami and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law. Upon graduation and admission to the Florida Bar, Joseph began his career at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office advocating and fighting for clients on a daily basis.

Joseph started in a sub-division of the Felony Unit at the Public Defender’s Office. Through dedicated advocacy and aggressive litigation Joseph helped secure his clients’ release, move their cases forward in a positive direction, and get many cases dismissed. From there Joseph went to the County Misdemeanor division where he handled hundreds of cases, deposed witnesses and experts, argued evidentiary as well as dispositive motions, and successfully tried numerous cases to verdict.

Joseph established a passion for advocacy, litigation, and fighting for those in need. Joseph always says that it is an honor, and nothing gives him more pleasure than to “fight the good fight on behalf of those that need it most.” After dedicating himself to public service, Joseph joined Neblett Law to refine his trial and advocacy skills in civil court and to continue fighting for and advocating on behalf of his clients. Since joining the firm he has been actively involved in trials in both State and Federal Courts.

As a true lover of all that Miami and South Florida has to offer, Joseph enjoys boating, fishing, playing tennis, jujutsu, and taking his dog to the beach.
